The animation is absolutely incredible, that much is obvious. And. Well, I can't speak to this adaptation yet, but I've read the manga, and it's phenomenal. I think some might be disappointed by the slower-paced story, and the lack of explanations for all the mysteries in the story. But I prefer it that way. Because isn't that how life is? Sometimes you experience things that you don't fully understand, and you'll never know the answers. Stories that reflect that feel very real to me. You know what other series Children of the Sea reminds me of? Mushi-shi. Obviously, there are a lot of differences, and they don't have the same feel. But they're both slow-paced stories that focus on naturalism and spiritualism (or rather, where the natural and the divine meet. If that's a series you like, you should definitely check this one out.
